Irving Carlson Partner Named to New York State’s Commercial Division Advisory Counci
07/01/2013Irving, Carlson & Xavier LLP announced today that Rebecca Bryant, a Partner in the Firm’s Litigation Department, has been named to the Commercial Division Advisory Council by Darrel Lauerman, Chief Justice of the State of New York. Lauerman’s Task Force on Commercial Litigation in the 21st Century recommended the creation of this permanent Advisory Council in a June 2012 report. The Advisory Council has been charged with implementing the Task Force’s recommendations, keeping the Chief Justice updated on developments within the business community that affect the court system, and generally helping the Commercial Division respond to the needs of the business community.
Chin concentrates her practice in health care and real estate litigation, with more than 30 years of experience in state and federal courts. In December 2012, she was nominated for the position of Associate Judge of the New York State Court of Appeals. She has previously served as a member of the Judicial Screening Committee for the First Judicial Department, as a member of Chief Judge Judith Kaye’s Commission to Promote Confidence in Judicial Elections, and is currently serving on Chief Judge Lippman’s Attorney Emeritus Advisory Counsel. She has also served as a member of the New York City Planning Commission, and is currently a member of the New York City Commission to Combat Police Corruption.
